The Conviction of a Life in Jesus' Mission

26min | Presented by Sr Patricia Fox NDS

Sr Patricia Fox NDS shares her experiences of mission in the Philippines and of being in solidarity with those suffering injustices. Her ministry was eventually ruled as not appropriate to “missionary” work. What does it mean to preach the Good News of the Kingdom today? How do we make “the joys, the hopes, the griefs and anxieties of the people of this age, especially those who are poor", those of the "followers of Christ" (Gaudium et Spes #1).
Sr Patricia Fox joined the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion in 1969. Initially trained as a teacher, she then moved into community work, supporting youth and single mothers. She then gained her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Jurisprudence and worked in Government Legal Aid before moving to the Philippines in 1990. She holds leadership roles in her Congregation and is involved with Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans and supporting seasonal workers through the Australian Catholic Migrant and Refugee Office.
