Monsignor John Woods is parish priest of Transfiguration Parish, North Woden, in the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn. He was ordained in 1978 and has been the chaplain to the Canberra Raiders in the National Rugby League (NRL) since 1986. He was made a Life Member of the Raiders in 2022 for his service as chaplain.
Monsignor John Woods shares his insights into sports chaplaincy and explores the evangelising potential of sport. He discusses his own experience as a chaplain to the Canberra Raiders for more than 35 years, explaining how sport can truly be a sign and instrument of God’s presence in the world.
